We provide an array of Pure Aniline, Aniline Top Grain and Aniline Corrected Leathers.
Our large selection includes many colors and styles, all with the smooth, supple texture and lighter weight that works best on the clean, straight lines of contemporary or transitional frames. Special effects such as hand-rubbing, kela coat, and monochromatic colors are featured in this section. Pricing is varied: affordable corrected hides are sometimes designed for contemporary and transitional styles—yet so are high quality, hand-rubbed, very fine hides.
Generally, this group has a robust, Old World look, with many wax and oil pull-ups, and hand-rubbed special effects. Thicker weight leathers are also included, especially those that are well-suited to the oversize frames of lodge designs and those with wood and nail head trim. Vintage leathers are not all rustic — many are finely detailed and resemble the chic, traditional leather upholstery found in American private clubs, circa mid 20th– century. In both cases, the leathers have great character and although they are new, they present a rich, well-worn look. Pricing is varied — affordable corrected hides are sometimes designed as rustic or vintage products. Yet many of these leathers are made using the finest hides and are hand-crafted by experts.
Super-soft, color-rich, supple and beautiful, these leathers begin as the highest quality hides. Quite a few of these leathers are aniline-dyed, tumbled in drums for many hours, with hand-applied special effects. Some are heavier weight and feature distinctive pebble graining. To begin with, these hides show fewer “hallmarks of the trail” but these markings are generally showcased to ensure authenticity and natural beauty. The finest furniture of all styles, from traditional and vintage to contemporary and rustic, would be well-suited to these leathers.
